Position Title: Full-Time Cardiac Anesthesiologist

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Routinely provide anesthesia coverage in the following locations:
  o Cardiac Surgery
  o Thoracic Surgery
  o Vascular Surgery
  o Structural Heart/Cath Lab
• Possibly provide anesthesia coverage in the following locations:
  o General Surgery
  o Orthopedic Surgery
  o Podiatric Surgery
  o Ophthalmological Surgery
  o Gynecological Surgery
  o Plastic Surgery
  o Urological Surgery
  o Trauma Surgery
  o Labor and Delivery Anesthesia
• A mix of resident supervision and independent practice
• 8-hour shifts on non-call days
• Home call shifts for cardiac only approximately 1:3 weekdays and every 3rd weekend
• Non-Clinical days available for Core Faculty Staff

Requirements:

• ABA Board Certification or Eligibility; current ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship
• Certified in Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography
• Active CA license
• Interest in teaching and residency education

Compensation:

• 1099 Independent Contractor status
• $2600 per guaranteed 8-hour shift with hourly compensation after 8 hours
• Weekday and Weekend call stipend
• 40 hours per week with 6 weeks of vacation for an estimated $700k annual compensation
• Flexible scheduling to allow for a desirable work-life balance.
• Potential to earn more by covering additional shifts.
• Up to $30k sign-on bonus with a 3-year full-time retention
• Up to $100k student loan forgiveness with a 4-year full-time retention
• Relocation assistance
• All compensation subject to market rate adjustment on an annual basis
• Opportunity for a separate faculty/core faculty contract with GME

Education:
Kaweah Health is home to six (6) residency programs: Anesthesiology, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine,
Psychiatry, General Surgery, and Transitional Year as well as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.

Anesthesiology Residency:

• Four residents per class.
• Residents take in-house call every 24 hours.
• For those interested in a role beyond clinical teaching, faculty positions within the GME are
  available. (Separate contract provided by the GME office)
• Coaching on working with residents provided to all incoming anesthesiologists
• Medical Students and Emergency Medicine residents also rotate with the service.

Conveniently located between San Francisco and Los Angeles, approximately 3 hours from each, it is known for its agriculture, it's delicious dining, and its warm and welcoming small-town charm.
